DMin, Biblical Counseling, ACBC since 2002, CADAC II Dr. Mark E. Shaw

Dr. Mark E. Shaw, Founder of The Addiction Connection, is an ordained minister and author over 30 published resources. Starting his counseling career in residential addiction treatment and medication-assisted treatment centers in Mobile, Alabama, Mark was introduced to Biblical Counseling in 1999. He has been certified with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) since 2002, and he obtained a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) in Biblical Counseling in 2008. Dr. Shaw serves full-time as the Pastor of Counseling at the Nocatee Campus of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL.

Tim Brown

Tim Brown became a Christian in 1991 at the age of 38. He was ordained and licensed to the Gospel Ministry in 1997 and is an Elder at Faith Community Church in Woodstock, Ga. In 1998 Tim started His Steps Ministries, Inc. a counseling and discipleship ministry for those caught in the sin of addiction. In 2003 His Steps opened a residential program for men based on biblical principles. His Steps believes that addiction is due to an incorrect relationship with God, and hope is only offered through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He has been certified by ACBC, the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors since 2006. Over the years Tim began to see a lack of understanding in the local church concerning addiction. The residency program closed in 2017 allowing Tim to now dedicate his time to develop and implement addiction training programs from a biblical perspective for local churches as well as counsel addicts in his community.
