About this course

Did you know that the book of Jonah takes place in the same setting as Nahum, but 100 years earlier? Find out what happens when God announces His final judgment on the Assyrians of Nineveh and how this teaching has application for addiction counseling.

Studying the Old Testament can sometimes be challenging, but these Nahum lessons are intended to draw from important truths for counseling the heart of an idolater, drunkard, or those who are labeled with the stigmatizing term, “addict.” But at The Addiction Connection, we focus on proclaiming the good news of the Gospel. This video course touches on:

  • The wickedness that can be found in the sinful heart of mankind apart from God

  • The presence of suffering and calamity in a broken and sin-cursed world

  • The justice, faithfulness, mercy, grace, and steadfast love of God

You can be comforted (Nahum’s name means “comfort”) with confidence in our God in heaven—that He is just and does not ignore the wickedness that is present on earth. This book has hope for anyone who has experienced suffering at the hands of others, or is suffering as a result of some past choices and needs to know the comfort that God’s plans cannot be thwarted.
